Got back from a weekend in Manchester yesterday, to distract from the fact I didn’t end up going to Leeds but made £300 quid instead. Went to watch the Pride parade on Saturday and then into the Gay Village to soak up the atmosphere, even got to see Sophie Ellis Bextor play. Was going to follow that with a lol as I don’t really like Bextor but I thought thats a bit too teenage girl and not sure how else to express sarcasm over the internet. Anyway back to my weekend, had a good time on Saturday and went into Bury on Sunday night to Sol which I had heard quite a lot about and was better than expected, was another top night.
Both these late nights meant I ended up sleeping in today, didn’t get up till half twelve but I’m not working so its not the end of the world. Went to Ikea this afternoon to get some supplies for re-decorating my room, have taken a few before shots which I will put on flickr tomorrowbut its pretty horrible. I am absolving myself of responsability for this as have just swapped rooms with my Brother. The walls are a bright yellow, the window frame is dark blue and it has a sea-life border with a dodgy carpet.
Bought myself a new CD tower as the old one is too small, a new wooden window blind to replace the old horrible curtains, Two pine shelves, a wooden picture frame for the painting I got in Barcelona on holiday from a street painter, wavy mirror which looks pretty cool and a new light fitting for the ceiling.
Just need a new desk and wardrobe which couldn’t find there as I have a raised bed and it needs to fit underneath, all the wardrobes in Ikea are full size so won’t fit properly. Then a slice of the carpet we used in the living room, got some wall paint in the garage which is a light cream colour and some white paint to re-do the monstrosity that is the window frame.
Started putting up the cd tower today but am waiting till I paint the room to do most of the rest, I’ve also got a job coming up thurs/friday delivering BT phonebooks so will prob wait till weekend to start properly.
Also want to know why no one seems to view any of my other posts, over the past few days I have had quite a few hits (which makes a change) all going to the post I wrote about bloc party’s new album which I did expect as it is a fairly popular topic. Would just like it if people read a bit more than just thing I have written.
Other than that I am off till tomorrow have a good one.
